Worship at Olympic View
Worship at Olympic View is conducted in simplicity and without a prescribed liturgy to follow. Friends have always been known for keeping things simple, uncluttered and straightforward and that describes our worship as well. We don’t have the, “Read from this, follow that, stand up here and sit down there”, that makes you feel like a robot following the commands of a Director.
We aim to make the hour of worship (really an hour and fifteen minutes) down to earth, practical and easy to understand. We aim straight for the heart with enough head thrown in to convince you that you don’t have to leave your brains behind when you come to worship with Friends.
Our services are Bible oriented with a practical sermon that is designed to encourage as well as challenge you to explore a relationship with God. At the same time we encourage you to do so at your own pace, starting where you are.
We practice the Doctrine of Christian Liberty, “In the essentials, unity. In the non-essentials, liberty, and in all things love.” We are not heavy handed with lots of rules to follow. We believe and trust that God’s Spirit will direct each person and trust each person to follow as He directs.
Oh yes, we have nursery for children up to three and a children’s program during worship for children up through sixth grade.
So, with that, we invite you to come and share worship with us. The next two Sundays will be quite unique:
Sunday the 27th we have pastoral candidate Roger Button from Sherwood, Oregon with us…a great opportunity to meet a prospective pastor!
Sunday the 4th of July we will be sharing worship with the Korean Presbyterian Church of Federal Way, that shares our building with their Sunday afternoon service. We will not only have a joint service, but immediately after share a dinner of both Korean and American foods. All are welcome! |
